FAQs
What is chiropractic?
Chiropractic care focuses on restoring proper alignment and mechanics to the spine and other joints, which helps reduce stress on your nervous system and improve your body’s ability to heal.
What is Applied Kinesiology?
Applied Kinesiology uses muscle testing as a window into how your body is functioning. It helps identify areas of structural, chemical, and emotional imbalances so we can tailor care to your specific needs.
Do you see families and children?
Yes! We are a family practice and care for patients of all ages—from infants to older adults. Each visit is adapted to meet the unique needs of the individual and we can provide safe care to people of all ages.
What can I expect at my first visit?
New patient visits take more time and include a thorough evaluation of your history, a physical assessment, and initial care. You’ll leave with a clear plan and next steps tailored to your needs. Expect thorough intake paperwork and a detailed consultation with the doctor lasting over an hour. Be sure to bring any supplements or medications you’re currently taking.
What if all my blood work is normal?
Standard lab ranges are often wide and are aimed at identifying medical pathology for the average person. Functional lab ranges are often narrower and focus on the levels that decrease function and health before pathology develops. Even when standard labs look “normal,” there can still be functional imbalances in the body that create symptoms. We look deeper to assess how your systems are working together and address issues before they progress into more serious problems.
I’ve tried alternative care and still don’t have answers—how is this different?
Whether you are seeking help for the first time or have told your story a dozen times and still don’t have answers: we slow down, listen, and use Applied Kinesiology muscle testing and Functional Medicine alongside chiropractic care. This approach lets your body “tell” us where to prioritize care and targets structure, biochemistry, stress, and lifestyle together. You’ll get honest explanations, a personalized plan, and holistic strategies to move forward. If progress isn’t happening, we pivot or help you find the right next step. There are no one-size-fits-all solutions, and you won’t get puffed up promises here—just collaborative care to finally connect the dots.
Do you take insurance?
We are not in-network with any insurance providers and do not bill insurance directly. Upon request, we can provide superbills with all necessary information for patients who wish to submit claims for possible reimbursement. Please note that insurance plans vary widely, and (even with chiropractic coverage) reimbursement is not guaranteed.
Do you bill Medicare?
No. Our practice does not bill Medicare and our practitioners are not enrolled with Medicare. This means that we cannot provide Medicare-covered services to Medicare patients, but we do still offer wellness/maintenance care on a cash basis. Because Medicare doesn’t cover wellness care or accept claims from non-enrolled providers, we ask Medicare patients to sign a notice that outlines these ideas. We’re happy to discuss this further when you call or visit.
Will my secondary/“gap” insurance reimburse my visit?
Usually not for Medicare beneficiaries. We’re not enrolled with Medicare, and we don’t bill insurance. Most secondary coverage plans only pay after Medicare pays for or denies a covered service—so reimbursement for our services is unlikely. For non-Medicare patients, we can provide a superbill; any reimbursement depends on your plan. If you want care that could be considered by Medicare, it’s best to find a Medicare-enrolled chiropractor.
Do you accept HSA or FSA cards?
Yes, we can process HSA and FSA payments. However, some plans restrict what they’ll cover, and certain charges may be declined or reversed after an audit. In these cases, you as the patient would still be responsible for full payment at the time of service. We recommend checking with your plan administrator if you’re unsure.
